Navigation: only turn right, no turn left

Karsten Kürbis shared this problem 3 years ago
Not a Problem

Hello,

when i navigate, Locus only knows the direction „right“, even if i have to turn left.

When i have to turn right, Locus advices „turn right“. Also all other navigation advices seem to be correct.

I use Locus Pro Version 3.54.3 with a Samsung A21s and the App „BRouter“.

Cheers,

Karsten

Hi Karsten,

is the "left" command visible on the map or in the navi box in the top left corner? Also check your TTS settings (Locus settings > Language&units > text to speech) - is there the green "ready to use" visible?

Hello Michal,

the „ready to use“ button in the TTS setting is green.

During navigation also the navi box arrow shows the wrong direction.

I will make a screenshot as soon as possible.

Cheers,

Hi Karsten,

does this happen on every left turn? Does this happen when you plan a route in the route planner and then navigate along it or when you use the "Navigate to" feature to a particular target?

Hello Michal,

it seems to be an issue with navigation, when you have many turns in a short distance. Look at the screenshot. The advice is „turn right“, but i think it refers to the next turn.

I will check this in the future. Perhaps you close the ticket for the moment,

By the way: I navigate along a track, yes.

- it may happen that the router doesn't generate a navigation command on a place where it should be (your screenshot) - then you either ignore it or add a navigation point manually (https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:editing#editing_navigation_commands)

- mistakes are made when the route shaping points are inaccurately placed on intersections. Therefore, always place shaping and waypoints behind the intersection so that the router knows your next direction (https://facebook.com/locusmap/posts/4308446419242523)

The direction arrow says: Turn Right @ 85 meter !

So such indicates that the Left you seems to expect @ +/- 20 meter was and is not generated by the router engine. This must be by the B-Router > "Unbekannte strasse"

Suggest you to make another alternative test and now by generating a navigation track generated and produced by the GraphHopper (online) router engine.

Hello all,

thank you so much for the help. I will check this in the future. I know, navigation is not perfect, especially when you have many turns in a short distance.

I found out the the location is in Berlin. (Optimal and best is to attach the gpx file in a reported issue pse)

The Left turnpoint is correctly attached by both GH and Brouter except when using the Brouter profile"shortest'.
