Sharing the location with Google Map,

Jelle Ruben shared this problem 2 years ago
Closed

Hello,

I have the Locus Pro 4.8.2, and be a gold member. I don't know if it your problem.

But I use often the share fuction, and like to share with Google map, so I can see the location on Google maps (This for the Satellite and street view) .

Since a few days, if I want to share the location, and choose Google Maps. Then Google Maps crashes. Is this a problem of Locus map or Google Maps?

I have reset both app, but didn't work.

Greetings,

Jelle Ruben

Today, I tried it on another smartphone. It doesn't work there either.

Hello,

please can you describe your exact procedure to me so I can try to simulate your problem?

For me everything works correctly.

And if you missed it, you can use satelite maps in Locus as well: Global satellite maps are coming into Locus (locusmap.app)

Mmh sorry it not difficult. You have in the app a share option, to share a location to an other app.

In the past I use it a lot.

Screenhot is in Dutch

Satelite allright I will try it. But I use Streetview a lit to

Hello,

ok, we do the same thing. But I can't simulate the error. For me everything works.

Does it occurs in all the apps, or only with Google Maps? Can you try to share position with another app?

What phone do you using, please?

If I am at Home, I can make a video of the problem.

Hello,

I am sorry, we tested it on a few devices and we can't simulate this issue, so it is very likely an error of the Google Maps.

We'll wait if there is another user with the same problem.

And if you find the solution, please, let me know.

Thank you.

Hello,

Have you tried? and work it by you? I can report this by Google Maps.

Hello,

we tested it on a few devices with my colleague and everything works correctly.

So I assume that the Google Maps crashes when trying to display a shared point or there is some specific problem on your device.

The issue self is not nice. But it is nice to hear it, that I am not alone with this issue. It doesn't have to be my device.

send to google maps navigation works fine

if i call a falco tasker task, and have that task open location in google maps via tasker intent it works fine....

so google must have updated something that affects the way tasker sends geo url or whetver its called

as tasker sends location intent

Also works fine in google earth and other maps apps.

As a file if you install google streetview

open the location there, from the nav menu rather than share with otehr apps menu

in streetview, click back, you will get back to normal google maps, but at the location

as locus is sending geo uri to other map apps fine, its not a locus issue but a google maps issue.

Hello guys,

I am sorry, but as I wrote before.

This is not an error on the Locus side.

I have send Google Maps a Twitter message.

Do you also know which apps can receive the coordinates from Locus Pro? So I can install another app and test it? I hope you understand my question.

i tested in combat navigator, and that worked of "other app location sharing"

you can use google earth and streetview from te navigation menu, they appear as other options

if an app can receive geo uri, it will appear in the share menu

probably waze, sygic or here navigation will appear there

I have now tested with:

Google Maps crash

Google Earth open it but get no coordinates

Sygic works
