Guidance ends after 10-15 minutes

Solved

Guidance ends after 10-15 minutes while guiding along imported GPX track. I have to manually restart guidance every 15 minutes. This happens in both Locus 4 and Classic, but NOT in OsmAnd, so I don't think it's an Android problem (using Android 13 on OnePlus 9.

Hello,

please, can you describe your issue in more detail?

Only guidance stops or whole Locus is ended?

Do you have Locus active during the guidance, or placed in your pocket?

Is there any error code or message?

I guess it could be related to battery optimization, so exclude Locus from all means of optimization so that the app can run in the background.

Hi. Here's what happens: I turn on guidance for imported GPX track, turn screen off, put phone in my pocket. Locus stays in the guidance mode for 10-15 mins, gives me voice directions (turn left, right). Then it stops talking. I take it out of my pocket, turn the screen on, Locus still running, map and track are displayed, but it's not in guidance mode any more. I manually set it into guidance mode, and same events occur again and again.

Hello,

this is exactly the battery opt. problem. Locus is suspended by the system. You have to enable foreground and background activity and optimize is set to "never".

See the manual I've sent you before and if it still won't help, see the https://dontkillmyapp.com/ and search for tips exactly for your device/manufacturer

Yes, that fixed it. The interesting thing is that OsmAnd guidance works fine with screen off in my pocket with "Allow background activity" turned off, any idea why or how?

I have a OnePlus 8T with Android 14. I have made all the settings required above. I still have the same problem. Guidance stops after 10-15 minutes when I have my phone in my pocket.
