Addding control point

Is it possible to add control point to existing (and made in external tool) route without recalculating? Right now adding it triggers recalculating route in segment before and after a new one.

Doesn't matter but I'm doing it from Ride with GPS or Strava. If you edit track planed in Locus Map problem doesn't exists because it was planned using the same algorithm. In "game" known as tiles hunting is crucial to preserve already drawn route.

Hi,

what do you mean by the "control point"? If it's a via point or shaping point, add it in the route planner and make sure the drawing mode is set to manual. More about it: https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:editing#changing_progress.

Control point It's a term used in Ride with GPS and you probably are calling it "shaping point" and now everything is clear but not especially intuitive to new users. I (and many of my friends) we were using long press and "add" point which causes recalculating. Using (i) and adding track point works like a charm. But result icon (green triangle) is the same. I'm not sure why there is a difference (and why separate it to two menus). What's the practical usage of options presented ont the screenshot?

That's adding a via point (a place which you intend to visit on your journey) to the route when planning. You can place the via point at the route's start, somewhere in the middle and at its end.

OK, now I know the source of confusion. Long press propagate click to map layer and it's independent of route line. Click activate "route shaping menu".
