Hi,

may you be more specific in your idea/question?

If you mean the chinese market meaning app stores, like huawei, thats a lot of extra effort to make locus available on a different store, as a lot of locus4 features need google play services anyway, the apps would be limited, simplest thing is to use play store with a vpn or similar.

Don't be so quick with such estimates :).

Locus Map is made for devices running custom ROMs, like LineAge OS etc. that, by default, do not usually have Google Play services. And all (probably except in-app billing) should work as expected!

Ah, thats good, does the syncing and backup work as well?

Yes it should. In the case of sync, there is only a minor problem, the app does not receive information from the server that something has changed on another device or web portal. So start of the sync has to be done manually in this case. For now ...

It can be launched on some app markets in China, such as Huawei and Tencent App Store

Thanks, understand. Huawei already contacted us, but it is still not a priority for us. Anyway, we will probably look at it next year.

You should seriously consider entering the Chinese market. The number of Chinese users is extremely large, and if done well, it could surpass the global user base of Google Play. Collaborating with Huawei could be the first step in entering China. However, I hope you can improve the professionalism of your team members.

Hello,

"unfortunately", Michal's response is correct and valid, sorry. Locus Map does not contain Google Maps but offers options to add custom maps manually. This was made for users mainly to add custom OpenStreetMaps or own maps but may also be used for Google Maps.

Anyway, the Chinese market is interesting for us as well of course. Anyway, because of various problems Huawei has in Europe/USA, because of possible problems in users' privacy when using any Chinese platform, and because of our (as a team) strong anticipation against Communism, it is not a big priority for us. Thanks for understanding.

There is no excessive privacy exposure, and maybe you don’t know enough about China. The app has mandatory mobile phone number verification in China, but nothing else. It only needs to comply with China’s laws and systems to operate in the Chinese market. It’s not that exaggerated. , does not involve privacy exposure at all

Locus is available in china as Menions response 25 days ago....promoting on the huawei app store or tencent store is more the issue, and if theres complications/work involved, im sure menion has a huge list of features/work involved on core features, but as theres 3 votes already on this idea, perhaps if more people vote in the future it may get reconsidered...
