Saving points/tracks went PITA in the last version of LM4

Sorry to say that, but saving points and tracks to predefined folders has got worse in the last few updates.

A few months ago Locus Map recognized the type of things to save and switched to the point folder or track folder which was used last. This has completely changed, also the behaviour of selecting folders without containing subfolers.

I like to separate tracks from pints, so I created two folders named "Points" and "Tracks". Each of them contain subfolders to further distinguish what I want to save.

Let's say I have the following structure:

Points/

├─ Geocaches/
│ ├─ Archived/
│ ├─ Unknown caches solved/
│ ├─ Found caches/
│ │ ├─ GC43.gpx
│ ├─ Traditional caches/
│ │ ├─ GC60.gpx
│ │ ├─ GC40.gpx
├─ Parking/
│ ├─ Home.gpx
│ ├─ Work.gpx
├─ POI/
│ ├─ Dome of Cologne.gpx
│ ├─ Tower Bridge.gpx
Tracks/
├─ Komoot/
├─ Planned/
├─ Recorded/
├─ Downloaded/
│ ├─ Books/
│ │ ├─ Where to go from here/
│ │ │ ├─ hike1.gpx
│ │ │ ├─ hike2.gpx
│ │ ├─ Roaming around in Transsilvania/
│ │ │ ├─ Dracula.gpx
│ │ │ ├─ Vlad.gpx

When I download a traditional geocache I have to navigate to /Points/Geocaches/Traditional caches/ by clicking all of the subfolders, even the last one containing nothing but files. In a former version of Locus Map, I could just select "Traditional caches" and the gpx-file could be saved there without the need of opening that folder.

I can live with the extra click, but it is nonetheless annoying.

When I download a GPX-Track from somewhere afterwards, the folder "Traditional caches" is opened as default and I have to navigate to "/Tracks/Downloaded/Books/Where to go from here" and save the track. In a former version of Locus Map, I was directed to "Tracks" subfolder I used last, not the "Points" subfolder I used last.

When I download another point (say geocache) Locus Map opens the folder "/Tracks/Downloaded/Books/Where to go from here" and I have to navigate back to "/Points/Geocaches/Traditional caches", which really is a PITA, sorry for that.

Even if this is somewhat like the existing topic [Shortcuts to Points and Tracks folders](https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/37590-shortcuts-to-points-and-tracks-folders), I don't want user defined shortcuts, I just liked the possibility of showing the last folder for a particular type of gpx file (point/track).

You don't have to open the folder to save there. I didn't know that for a long time either. If you left-click, the folder opens. If you right-click on the check mark, it is imported into the folder.

The reason for the latter is so that you now have one place for both. And Locus cannot distinguish whether you are importing a point or a track.

During development, there was talk of 2-3 favorite folders that you could specify when making your selection. But that wasn't what people wanted. However, it was proposed that the last 3-4 folders be displayed at the top, with My Library below them. Unfortunately, nothing has come of this to date.

@Locus Team: When will this be implemented?

@freischneider Thanks for pointing me at the checkmark. This does it for me.
