Since the last update, the lock screen always appears. I can no longer unlock it permanently.
Every time I close and reopen the application, this setting goes back to the default settings, is that normal?

Option to open the app when phone is locked does not work. Locus 4.31.3 Android 16 Pixel 8
It used to be possible to open the app just by clicking on the side button or tapping the screen, even when the phone was locked. But since the latest update, this no longer seems to work. Please could it be brought back as it's very useful when hiking in poor conditions with gloves and face coverings. Thanks Adam.
"Unlock the screen" setting switches off by itself
On version 4.31.3 the setting to unlock the screen (in "Controlling" -> "Display") switches off by itself. Steps to reproduce are:
1/ switch "Unlock the screen" on
2/ go back to main view, leave the app, use main display button - a couple of times! Usually doing 3-4 of these activities one after the other caused the issue
3/ notice that screen starts locking at one point. The setting "Unlock the screen" is now off
I'm 100% sure this wasn't the case with versions at and prior to 4.31.1, not sure about 4.31.2. The issue just started happening sometime in the past month.
Lock screen setting resets itself
I would like to use the App without unlocking my phone every time I use it. There's a setting in the menu to just do this and it also works fine. But since one of the recent updates (1 or 2 months ago) this setting resets whenever I close the app. How do I make the setting persistent again? Pretty annoying to change the settings before each bike ride.

Due to some significant changes in the background, it is not currently possible to publish a new version. At least, we'll publish a stable Beta version shortly and will try to speed up a new production version a little.

I have just done a quick test of the beta this evening and it seems to be working ok now. It is possible to open the app without unlocking the phone, once again. I will try and do a more thorough test tomorrow and if I notice anything else, I’ll let you know. But so far so good. Thank you for the rapid response to the problem. Adam.

I've decided for now to not install the beta in case of other issues. Now I know what to do to avoid a recurrence of the original problem I'm happy to wait for the fully tested version in November. Thanks

After more extensive testing I can also confirm it’s definitely ok now.
(But I have found that as long as I am using this beta version, I can’t buy LoCoins which means I can’t buy maps. I’m looking forward to the fix being included in the next user release, so I can come off the beta and start buying maps again).

Oh, man. Each time I advise my wife to use Locus for navigation it's failing! Last time she used it it crashed. This time she couldn't see the map while navigating, so she switched to Google again! 🙁
I will cancel her subscription as she isn't willing to use it anymore because it never works and she isn't a tech girl, just wants to navigate.

No I don't want to install a beta for obvious reasons. Often the help docs are hopelessly out of date and don't match what you see on screen.

BTW, i found that that unlock screen option does not work either in the "Navigation > Link with presets > (pick a config to edit)".
After you check the option, but it never appears in the config preset panel and never applies that.
