Question about the new route warnings in version 4.36.1.4

The changelog for version 4.36.1.4 mentions new route warnings for roads closed to cyclists, dismount-required sections, and steep climbs and descents.

However, I cannot find any explanation of this feature in the documentation or any related settings in the app.

Could you please clarify how these warnings work? Are they displayed automatically during navigation when using LoRouter, or is there a setting, routing profile, or map data requirement that needs to be enabled?

It would also be helpful to know how users can verify that these new warnings are working.

Thank you.

Hi Waldemar,

the new (primarily biking-related) warnings have been implemented recently and they are not yet described or explained in the manual. They are generated by LoRouter from available OSM data and they are displayed on the map during route planning and during navigation, based on your settings.

Roads closed to cyclists - the router with a cycling profile doesn't create routes this way but it can be "forced" with a few more shaping points on the related part of the road which is then highlighted red

dismount-required sections - router creates routes this way but displays a warning sign

steep climbs/descends - heavily dependent on the selected routing profile. The more terrain-based activity, the more steepness is allowed. For example, a 20% descent is marked when you use bike touring but not for MTB. This is also tuned for the terrain severity parameter in the MTB profile.

"how users can verify that these new warnings are working"

- by planning a route either in the app or on the web, by navigating such routes
