Add POI to existing track

Completed

I would like to be able to add waypoints to an existing track, much like can be achieved by importing tracks.

Good day guys,

this feature is already implemented in Locus Map app. Is current solution usable for your needs?

Identical idea title / identical answer. POI = wpt = independent free points. Agree ?

To be produced by Locus ? I think not possible.

Select from the Locus database: Tracks + Points. Select a track(s) and join with selected free point(s) (POI) -> export result into a SINGLE gpx file.

Expected result : See example gpx file: = Produced by "gpx editor" (pc).

This single gpx file contains: A single track AND 2 poi's: "Info" and "72".

Whereby "72" is very near the track position, but not locked (associated) to any trackpoint.

Good day Willy,

unfortunately it is not clear to me, where is a problem.

Adding waypoints to track directly in detail of track > tab waypoints, result in single GPX file with track + waypoints in one file. This is not expected result?

And if waypoint is locked on certain trackpoint or not, depends on it's coordinates. If coordinates of waypoint match to trackpoint coordinates, it will be "attached" , which has probably only effect = navigation will notify on this waypoint.

Hi Menion,

This other (older) idea. (Old = not urgent, ...so I did not follow tread anymore until your recent call now)

However seems "never to old to learn" ;-) I had no idea that via track details I could add free POI.

Thanks for info. So here the results:

I added into already existing track with 2 x POI one extra single POI <sym> Furbearer by Locus.

Exported into gpx (1.0/1.1) and had a control:

The original <sym> is lost and replaced by <sym> z-ico01.

See results in attachment.

Hello,

well this is probably correct. <sym> tag serve for symbol of point. It is not meant to bear information about navigation command, so I cannot consider this behavior as an issue.

Anyway original idea was to "add POI into existing track", which I believe is satisfied now. Idea implemented.

Absolutely...idea finished.

About lost symbol POI point/Icon ? POI <sym> only task is to display correct Icon.

A Point of Interest is not in use for any track navigation generation.

Such POI Icon is lost now by Locus ..should not happen I suppose.

Finished.
