Altitude correction error (missing file) vs track recording
I got issue with recording my hiking trip, normally i just start locus and forget it for few hours
but 2 last time at the end of trip when i wanted to save records i was suprised that it was stopped after few minutes not hours. On the screan was message missing file for altitude correction and that STOP recording automaticly.
I guessing that in previous update this option (altitude correction) was off becouse year ago (same device) on trip i didnt have a problem or when i change phone before both trips i coppy my all locus data with SD card.
Old phone was android 4 and new is android 7 so with firs start of locus i got info that i need to to copy software to the phone for update and impossible downgrade any more (some OS issue).
Year ago SD card was still in device and last month no so mayby not all data was copied during the process.
Main problem is if you select automatic altitude correction from file and file is missing it shouldn't stop recording of trip just use 0.
Trip was to bottom of Grand canyon so 4 mile path with altitude change 0,5mile and not much movement in other direction. Also i was recording but without background map but before (year ago) it wasn't a problem.

could you please post a screenshot of the alert message about "track recording stopped because of missing elevation file"? Track recording can be stopped (or whole Locus killed) by the mobile device battery optimization so check if Locus is excluded from it (more info at http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6)

Hi, now I'm back in Europe at home and so sorry for delay.
Message was only "missing elevation correction file"(and some path) and arrow to start downloading file
what I done because at home i have access to wifi. So it impossible for me to make screenshot of it (and I'm using polish language version) i cannot find what was downloaded.
My device is Huawei P10 and year ago there was no problem witch tracking and it was andriod 7 now i it is 8
Check all setting for power savings and it looks good.
During this post my locus is recording track and everything is ok that is why i assumed it because of the elevation file, and i cannot find it in app file to delete and simulate warning again. Before i downloaded this file i tried to disable it
locus>settings>GPS and sensors>elevation (altitude) manager
when i disabled use correction warning there was no warning. If You can say where is global geoid model (automatic option) stored i can try to recreate everything

Huawei P10 had problems with all GPS apps when it used some version of its firmware. Fortunately, a patch was issued and this problem was solved. Maybe it was also your case. More info: http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/problem-with-locus-map-on-huawei-android-8-devices. If you don't experience the problem any longer, I consider this as solved.

last few days i spend hiking and tested device after downloading elevation file and it wasn't solution.
If i didn't open locus every 10 min it paused recording even if the app was running and in setting was run in background.
So it is the common problem, thred to close
