Custom geocaching symbols
OK, here is what I want and the question is - have any of the users here achieved this with Locus Map?
I am using GSAK for exporting data to a GPX file and I replace geocache names with my own for special caches I want to easily find. For instance, I prefix names with OBSm_ when the caches publish month is something I am missing for the Yasmer Challenge. Then it is possible to search for this in Locus Map.
But I want more. I want to change the symbol in the map for special geocaches. For instance having different background colors. A tradidional cache is a green container on a white background, but I want to have a green container with a red background. Some GPSr is able to show different colors, but I suppose Locus Map is not able to do this. But I can make my own symbols and place them in the icon directory. But selecting this icon pack is done in the configuration and not dynamically. I can change the symbol name in the gpx-file when exporting from GSAK, but is there any way that this can be used in Locus Map? Does Locus Map in any way support having different icons based on information in the gpx-file?
Currently, Groundspeak generated symbol names are only "Geocache" and "Geocache Found"
In GSAK, I could export with a new symbol name like for instance "Geocache Red". My wish is that Locus Map could then use the icon pack pack named "Geocache Red" and then used the tradidional or letterbox icon from that pack.

And finally, If we could have different symbol sets like this, it would be possible to make our own icons for found caches with only copying a zip-file named "Geocache Found" to the icon directory. :-)

Hi,
seems you are quite skilled used. What you may try:
You will see in the exported file, how Locus write custom icon into GPX file.
What I wrote above may work for basic points. You may give it a try, but I'm really worried, that it won't work for geocaches, that use the different system. So no, sorry, I do now knot about any working method that should do this for now.Jiří M. aka Menion

I would find this quite helpful as well, whether it be background color highlight or custom icons, most common use-case for me would be to show caches already found by my companion(s) but not by me differently as they don't get as high priority when going out together as those unfound by everyone.
