Heart rate without GPS activation

I have connected a Heart rate sensor to Locus.The problem is, that the heart rate is shown only with activated GPS modus. That makes sense during tracking modus, but not during exercises when GPS is not necessary (to save accu capacity...) Is there a soulution to display the heart rate without using GPS?
