Mass edit of texts of geocaching logs
Completed
Q: can I somehow select a bunch of geocaches and perform a mass logging for all with 1 log?
Use case: I go on a long weekend with friends and we find a lot of caches. Per found cache I Offline Log it as Found (yellow smiley face). This way I collect a lot of Found Caches that are marked with a timestamp. Last weekend we found 100 caches. Back at home I look at the list of Found Caches and sorted per Last Update. I now have a nice chronological overview of all 100 Found Caches. Then I want to prep 1 text, select the caches for 1 day and Log these caches with that 1 text.
Yes, I succeeded in getting it to work. Great! Tnx to the last remark of Condor! I did a bulk log of some 100 Found caches using the FieldNotes plugin.
First I unlocked the Pro version of FieldNotes in the Locus shop. I am not sure whether that is needed, but I have no problem sharing a few $$ with the hardworking guys. In the FieldNotes app I went into Settings: Templates Options --> Template 1 --> here I put in the log text I prepped and wanted to log with all caches. Then I sorted and filtered the caches in the FieldNotes overview for 1 cache day: some 40 caches we found that day: select all and then put in the log text: Options (top right 3 dots) --> Action --> Globally Add text --> Template --> and select the Template with my log text. After pressing OK, all selected caches now have that log text, as field note. Then upload these field notes: press the 'play' button (top mid) --> Log your visit. Then it will switch into LocusPro and you can select Upload. And there they go, one by one (takes some time). After this, I did the same thing for all caches found the next day, and the next, and the next ...
Nice that it works. It feels though I am abusing the FieldNotes in a way it is not meant to be used (with the Template and such). Maybe this can be done in a more direct, better way. Up to Menion and friends to look into this, or not. Thanks to the guys thinking along with me in this thread! This was the last function I was missing in Locus :)

Good day R50,
nope this is not possible. How may happen, that such feature is needed?

Tnx for the fast reply.

Most other geofriends are Garmin+GSAK lovers, and they do their mass (bulk) log with GSAK. I always advertize Locus on Android with Vector maps as the better alternative. Never stepped into using GSAK as Locus+Plugins provide me all I need. Except for the Mass/Bulk Logging :)

This is really good information to know to me as well. Thanks for sharing. I believe, your steps are perfectly correct and match reason why this add-on was made.
I'm glad it works!
