Navigation speech (TTS) stopped working - different twist

Hi

I updated Locus on my Android phone to version 3.40.2 a few days ago.

When I started navigation to a point today I received the error message "Cannot initialize Text-to-speech". The lower part of the message box has a clickable "Check Data" button but nothing happens when I click it (see attached screenshot "Screenshot_20191013-211409")

In trying to correct this problem I came across a (maybe) similar incident here: https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/navigation-speech-tts-stopped-working.

I first tried first via

Locus Setting -> Navigation -> Select Voice

"Text-To-Speech"

"Cannot initialize Text-to-speech"

then

Settings -> Language & Units -> App language (English (English, United States))

Text-to-speech (*** no language shown here ***)

TTS ENGINE Unknown

"Cannot initialize Text-to-speech"

(see attached screenshot "Screenshot_20191013-220911")

I also tried different languages because I remember how Locus started to talk in Czech all of a sudden a few updates ago. This time, Locus remains silent.

I am happy to supply additional information to resolve this problem if somebody tells me in Locus writes an error log when it throws up like this

Thank you very much for your support and best regards

As it often happens... I figured out what the problem was.

I had disabled Google's TTS engine and thereby crippled Locus' ability to talk. The problem is thus solved for me but it may be the base for one additional test case for developers. A clever user can always find one more way to shoot himself in the foot.
