No name of streets when navigation is on
Answered
While in navigation mode there are no street names displayed in upper left corner. Instead there is a question mark. Although the map displays all streets names. What is causing that issue?
I'd
like to state more precisely what I mean, see screenshots:
Although
there are names visible on the map Locus doesn't display them in navigation
mode.

Hello,
can I ask you what is your source for navigation? Do you use Brouter? Maybe own (imported) track?
Thanks
Petr

Hi Petr,
Yes, I am using Brouter as routing software. As far as I know does Brouter not know any street names - they should come from Locus. I am still having no idea. Maybe I should try a different routing software?!

Hello Maik,
navigation with Brouter works in different way then other navigation possibilities in Locus (MapQuest, OSRM,..) When Brouter computes the navigation, the result is only simple track without no information where is turning or without he name of the streets. I agree that it isn't straightforward but Locus also doesn't know the street names even you can see the labels on the map. The map in the background of navigation track is simple static image and Locus (at this moment) is not able to link your position with background map.
The only solution is to use any online source for navigation like MapQuest. To change it MEnu > Settings > Navigation > Source

I don't know whether there is a specific topic to vote for displaying street names with offline navigation? I use offline vector maps, and intentionally use BRouter so I don't need to use an online Compute Source.

Honestly I guess that there isn't such topic. However it'll be tricky to implement it :-/

Firstly I see the manual has been updated - it looks very nice. Thank you. Regards navigation with BRouter and the road "Unknown street"? It is quite confusing. An online Compute Source is not an option for me, so maybe an improvement - if BRouter is used then just hide the text line instead of "Unknown street". Also the manual could be updated to indicate why the road is unknown, and suggest using MapQuest etc..
I guess in the longer term, this is another reason why BRouter (and GraphHopper?) are not ideal for offline navigation.
