It would be good if Locus could use official/registered public transit data to plan bus and train routes. It would be wonderful if Locus could create routes based on user-provided GTFS files (since some local governments don't officially publish their data - for example, the Big Island of Hawai'i)

Public Transit routing is already implemented by a few routing engines, in particular GraphHopper, which is already implemented by Locus.


Routing is performed based on data provided by local governments in the GTFS (general transit feed specification) format. These official feeds are cataloged in two public registries:
