Show and hide tracks in a group
Gathering feedback
For a folder you can show and hide all tracks contained in it. All you have to do is click on the folder symbol. Now I have a lot of tracks and I also have groups. There are also many folders in the groups. Now I have to click many folders to show all of them in a group.
I would like the function: Show and hide all tracks in a group.
Ideally the same for points.
We have already discussed here.
If it is already in folders, it also makes sense to have it in Groups.

Yup I agree, makes sense and makes life easier.

Possibly also for LoPoints

At first I thought that it would work. But then I noticed that it only goes to folders. It definitely makes sense for Groups.

I use this function very often. I have 5000 tracks in different folders. These are all in one group.
They are MTB trails, only the trail itself. I need several folders because I want to show the track line differently. Difficulty and uphill and downhill. If I leave them all on, Locus will take over 2 minutes to start.
Now I turn it off. Then turn it on only when I ride MTB. But I always have to activate 4-5 folders.
So I need a long click on Group to show everyone.

@ Freischneider: thanks for your recommendation from locus map. (We met once in the forest). I have adopted the same way of displaying mountain bike trails from Freischneider. I also have the problem with the slow start. When geocaching and hiking, I don't want to see these tracks.
An even better idea would be if you could store in each folder which activity it is shown in and which one is hidden. All based on a preset. so that the folder is shown when I use the preset MTB and remains hidden when I use preset hike, auto, geocaching.

Something based on activities or maybe a general shortcut to switch on a specific map theme and display points and tracks would be great.
We use Locus in mountain rescue a lot and always have to switch on a lot of different points and tracks depending on what we are doing.

Maybe an even more flexible foundation for the point & track metadata would be to use tag system similar to Google Gmail (& lots of other well known apps/ websites). Each point & track can be associated with any number of tags. Folders & activities simply become special tags that can be filtered against. A user could define any number of extra tags to suit their purposes.

Agree. Tags are a good way of organizing!

Tag system is probably a bigger hassle. But very interesting.
Long click on folders to show and hide, there are already. So the effort for group should be quite small.
Preset is also a very good idea, I can't estimate the effort.

When implementing this topic, possibly implement this right away. Automatic hiding of the folder when exiting Locus.
Or should I make a new topic here?
Reason: I have over 1000 tracks in some folders. If I forget to hide it before exiting, Locus will take a long time to start.

I have additional points about this idea as you work on this screen.
Check when importing for the same name.
And enable further subfolders.
