Hi,

My main smartphone is under Android 11 with Locus Maps 4.

How can I port its tracks and points data to my old smartphone too, which is with Locus Map Pro ?

Hello,

you can use Backup function: manual:user_guide:tools:backup [ Locus Map 4 - Knowledge Base]

Backup all on your Locus Map 4 and Restore on your Locus Map Pro.

If you put your backup file to the cloud storage, you don't have to move it manually from device to device.

There is no automatic service (cloud sync is only in Gold LM4), so you have to repeat this procedure from time to time.

Yes, I have the automatic cloud sync to Locus Web, with my gold LM4, and it seems to me that the online manual does not reflect exactly what I can (or cannot) do with the backup function, at this time. I currently use LM4 4.5.7 in french language.

Or may be I can recover the needed data from Locus web for a manual transfert to my "old" versions of smartphone and app...? Or copy these data directly from LM4 to LM Pro (I know how to do it with USB cable via my PC, now!) ?

Hello,

firstly - if you have LM4 with gold, you can install it even on your old phone and you'll have automatic Cloud sync and you will never have to deal with this again.

Cloud sync and Backup are two different services. Cloud sync works only with LM4 Gold and Web planner (or another LM4 device). LMPro doesn't have this function.

Backup is service that creates file from your routes, points etc. but you have to restore it manualy (on the same or another device).

Yes, I have seen that before, but I was interested too in keeping and observing my old LM Pro version working on my old backup smartphone...

Finally all is ok, having re-installed LM4 on my old smartphone: this way, and after syncing this "bridge", I can perfectly access my personal points and tracks in its historical LMPro :)
