Android 13 / Pixel 7 external maps problem

jimmyfromthepieshop shared this problem 17 months ago
Solved

I now have my new Google Pixel 7 Pro with Android 13 and the first thing I tried to of course was set up Locus Maps :-)

The problem I am encountering, however, is that I can't seem to import any offline maps.

On my previous phone I used a lot of openandmaps and I have now imported them to my new phone but when I try to import them Locus now says

"Linking to maps in external directories is no longer supported. Select 'Import', find the map files and load them to the app's map directory"

but when I then try that, Locus does not recognise/find the maps even though I lead it to the folder which contains them.

So... Does anyone know what to do?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Please, can you describe your exact procedure, so I can try to replicate the issue?

In general, external maps should be in the "Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/maps" folder.

If you move the maps there, Locus should automatically recognize them.

https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_external

Please, let me know if it helps.

Hello Zdenek,

Thank you for your reply. I have now done what you described and the maps are now working!

Strangely though, the path was Android/media/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/maps

Anyway, it is now working so the issue has been resolved. Thanks again for your quick response.

Best regards,

Jimmy
